Day 1: DEPARTURE CITY - ATHENS

Overnight flight to Athens.
 

Day 2: ATHENS

Upon arrival at Athens airport we transfer to our centrally located Hotel. Due to the long and tiring Transatlantic flight, spend the rest of the day to rest. Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel

 

Day 3: ATHENS

After breakfast we will meet our tour guide and we will embark on a half-day walking tour of Athens. You will see the House of the Greek parliament then, walking through the Syntagma Square to a Byzantine church with a short visit (either Sotira of Lycodimos or the Kottakis Church) Walking through Plaka, the old town of Athens, you will visit Lysicrates monument and Hadrian's Arch. Afterwards, a ten-minute walk up the beautiful pedestrian walkway will bring you to the Acropolis with its spectacular views over the city below. Your guide will give a detailed explanation of the history of the glorious monuments of Acropolis its surrounding monuments and sites. Take a deserved rest and in the afternoon join your tour director on a visit through Athens. See three impressive Neo-Greek buildings; the Library, Academia and the University, as well as Cathedral of St. Denis, the main Catholic Church of Athens as well as the Henry Schliemann house and the newly discovered tombs in Syntagma Square. Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.

 

Day 4 - 9: AEGEAN CRUISE

After breakfast we transfer to Piraeus to board our ship for a 7 day/6 nights Aegean Cruise.

Accommodations and Amenities

Cabins on the ship are smaller than normal hotel rooms. Each cabin has air conditioning and a private bathroom. Groups should expect to stay in lower level cabins and are not guaranteed a porthole. Adults will be accommodated in double cabins and students in triples or quads. Amenities on the ship include restaurants, pool, casino, medical facilities, library/internet access, exercise room, live entertainment and a discotheque.

 

Meals and Beverages

Your cruise includes all meals. The cruise ship serves an abundant variety of food including full American breakfasts, lunch buffets, tea on the deck, buffet style and seated dinners. Drinks are not included. However, participants can choose a Non-Alcoholic drink packages which can be purchased at the beginning of the cruise: € 11/ Day.

 

Dress Code

While dress code on board is mostly casual, some evening activities, such as the such as the Captain's Night may require semi formal attire. On Greek night travellers are encouraged to dress in blue and white. When going ashore, comfortable walking shoes are recommended and for visits to religious sites, bare shoulders short skirts and shorts are not permitted.

 

Payments and Gratuities on Board

The currency on board is the Euro. A shipboard account is opened for each traveler at the beginning of the cruise. A credit card or cash deposit is required in order to open an account – no debit cards are accepted. All onboard expenses including shore excursions, gratuities, gift shop purchases etc. are charged to your shipboard account. Upon disembarkation travelers may settle their accounts using major credit cards or cash. Gratuities for cruise ship staff are not included in your program fee. Travelers should expect that $10 per day will be charged to their shipboard account to cover cruise staff gratuities. With this in mind, please make sure to recognize this service and tip accordingly.  

 

Day 10: PIRAEUS -DELPHI - ATHENS

Breakfast on board. Arrival at Piraeus and early morning departure, driving through Levadia and Arachova en route to Delphi, the ancient sanctuary of Apollo. Visit the museum in which one can see the unique bronze Charioteer, then proceed along the Sacred Way to the Athenian treasury. Visit the temple of Apollo. Late afternoon arrival in Athens  Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.

 

Day 11: ATHENS

After breakfast enjoy a full-day in Athens. Your Tuscany Academy tour director is at your disposal to lead you for a last moment shopping on Monastiraki or Plaka. Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.

 

Day 12: DEPARTURE

Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
